This 2 day Nag Tibba trek itinerary is simple and beginner friendly. Here is the usual schedule.
The day starts around 6:00 AM from Dehradun, usually from a point like Prince Chowk or the railway station. The 85-90 km drive takes about 3 to 3.5 hours. The road goes past Mussoorie and Nainbagh and ends at Pantwari.
After lunch at Pantwari, you begin a gradual 4-5 km climb. The path crosses rocky ground and small forest patches. You reach the base camp by late afternoon. Enjoy the sunset, a clear starry sky and a warm night in tents.
The summit push starts early, around 3:00 or 4:00 AM, so you can catch the sunrise. The steep 3 km climb goes through thick oak forest to the Naag Devta temple. A final stretch takes you to the summit, also called Jhandi. From there, enjoy a wide 180-degree view of the snow-capped Himalayas.
After photos and a short rest, walk back to base camp for a meal and then down to Pantwari. You usually reach Dehradun between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

Yes. The Nag Tibba trek difficulty level is easy to moderate. Day 1 is gentle. Day 2 has steeper sections, but they are short. Children aged 11 and above and fit family members can enjoy it. First-time trekkers do well here if they walk at a slow, steady pace.
You do not need special training, but basic fitness helps.
You can do the Nag Tibba trek in winter, and it is very popular. The trail often has snow, and the views are magical. Nights are very cold, so carry proper warm layers.
Skies are clear, meadows are green and the weather is pleasant. This is a good season for families and first-timers.
We do not recommend the trek in monsoon. Trails get slippery, clouds hide the views and rain can cause landslides on the road. If you want to know about trekking in this season, check weather updates before you decide.
Here is a simple Nag Tibba trek packing list for a weekend:
Pack light. A heavy bag makes the climb harder.

A good package usually includes:
Check what is not included, such as personal expenses and porter charges.

Children aged about 11 and above can do it with family. Younger children are not recommended because of the steep summit climb and the cold nights.

Yes. Winter is very popular because of the snow trails and clear mountain views. Nights are very cold, so carry thermals, a down or fleece jacket, gloves and a woollen cap.
